IAMA Spa

Wellness

IAMA — the ancient word for remedy. A spa forty metres inside the mountain, where the temperature has not changed in a million years.

The deep gallery of the quarry now holds a marble hammam, a spring-water cold plunge, and treatment rooms lit by shafts the quarrymen cut for air in 1900.

Treatments use what the island gives: olive oil pressed in Kardiani, honey from thyme terraces, sea salt from the coves below. No music in the deep rooms — the quarry’s silence is the treatment.

IAMA — marble bath

01

Marble hammam

Steam over heated Tinian marble, the classic ritual returned to its birthplace.

02

Quarry sound bath

Bronze bowls and the gallery’s natural echo — a sound no studio can copy.

03

Cold plunge

Spring water at a constant 14°C, in a basin cut for cooling saw blades.

04

Tinian rituals

Olive oil, thyme honey and salt scrubs, 60 or 90 minutes, in the deep rooms.
