Every text colour has a contrast ratio of at least 7:1, every button and link is at least 44×44 pixels, the whole site works with a keyboard alone, animation stops for anyone who asks their device to reduce motion, and nothing interrupts you without a way to switch it off for good.

The hotel in plain language

What is LATOMIES?
It is a hotel on the Greek island of Tinos. It was built inside an old marble quarry — a place where people used to cut stone out of the mountain. The quarry opened in 1863 and closed in 1974. The hotel opened in 2024. Note: this hotel is not real. This website is a demonstration.
Where is it?
In the north of Tinos, above a bay called Panormos, near two villages: Pyrgos and Marlas. Tinos is in the Cyclades islands. You get there by ferry from Rafina (about 2 hours) or from Mykonos (about 20 minutes).
What rooms are there?
There are 24 rooms of four kinds. A Quarry View Room is 32 square metres and costs from €240 a night. A Vein Suite is 45 square metres and costs from €340. A Cave Pool Suite is 58 square metres, has its own pool, and costs from €520. The Sculptor’s Villa has three bedrooms, sleeps six, and costs from €950.
How do I book?
Go to the "Book Now" page. Click the day you arrive, then the day you leave. You will see the price for each room. Choose a room, type your name and email, and send the request. You can also telephone us. Booking on this website is 10% cheaper than booking anywhere else.
What is included?
Breakfast is included. Free parking is included. Wi-Fi is included. The spa and the swimming pools are for hotel guests. Meals other than breakfast cost extra.
Who can stay?
Guests aged 12 and over. Families with younger children can stay in the Sculptor’s Villa, which has a closed courtyard. Pets are not allowed.
Can I cancel?
Yes. On normal prices you can cancel free of charge up to 7 days before you arrive. On the cheaper "early" prices, up to 21 days before.
Words we use
- Latomies
- Greek for "quarries" — the places where marble is cut from the mountain. It is the name of the hotel.
- Quarry
- A large pit where stone is dug out of the ground.
- Gallery
- Here it means a tunnel cut into the rock, not an art gallery.
- Vein
- A stripe of a different colour running through marble.
- Caique
- A traditional wooden Greek fishing boat.
- Louza
- Cured pork from Tinos, similar to ham.
- Raki
- A strong clear Greek spirit, served after a meal.
- Hammam
- A steam bath, also called a Turkish bath.
- Meltemi
- The strong north wind that blows in the Aegean in summer.
- Dovecote
- A stone tower built to house pigeons. Tinos is famous for them.
- PPR
- Prior permission required — you must ask before landing a helicopter.
If you need help
A person answers the telephone every day between 07:00 and 24:00 (Greek time). We can take your booking by phone, read the prices to you, or arrange anything you need. There is no automated menu — a human answers.
What we cannot make accessible
The building is a protected industrial monument carved out of rock. The arrival level, the restaurant, the wine bar and two Quarry View Rooms are step-free. The deep spa and the upper terraces are reached by stairs cut into the stone, without handrails, and cannot be changed. Please telephone us and we will tell you exactly what will and will not work for you.
